Today from now until around noon, the City of Goodland will be switching circuits in the new substation.
This could cause temporary intermittent power outages throughout the city.
Summary of Changes:
1. Customer Charges increase from $17.60 to $20.00 on a 1" residential customer.
2. Cu ft rate increases from $1.07 to $1.35 per 100 Cu ft for the first 4,000 Cu ft an increase of $0.28 per 100 cu ft. For all water over 4,000 cu ft it increases to $1.50 per 100 Cu ft, an increase of $0.43 per 100 Cu ft.
3. 700 Cu ft is equivalent to 5,236 gallons and this is considered an average user. The rate for an average user will increase $7.57 per month.

The City of Goodland is pleased to announce the appointment of Joni Showalter as Chief of Police for the City of Goodland. According to City Manager Gerry Bieker, “Joni Showalter will continue to provide leadership and a high level of professional law enforcement to our community that we have become accustom to.”
Officer Showalter graduated from the Kansas Law enforcement Training Center and has a Bachelor of Science in Justice Studies from Fort Hays State University. Her law enforcement career started in Thomas County as a Detention Deputy. Her family then moved to Goodland in May of 2005 when she accepted the position of patrol officer.
In 2011, she became the detective for the Goodland Police Department, Field Training Officer Coordinator as well as an active member of the Sherman County Multidisciplinary Team. In 2012, she was promoted to Assistant Chief of Police in addition to her investigative duties.
Ms. Showalter will begin her duties as Goodland Police Chief on March 20, 2015.

They are threatening to disconnect your service immediately, OR are asking you to pay your bill on the phone via credit card.
The City of Goodland will NEVER call and ask you to pay your bill via credit card.
The City of Goodland will NEVER call and request immediate payment. You will receive multiple written notices before disconnection.
