Fire DepartmentThe City of Goodland Fire Department was established in 1890 and currently has sixteen volunteer firemen, and one full time Fire Chief. The Fire Chief is responsible for: Doing Pre-Plans, Testing Fire Hydrants, Fire Inspections, Training for the Firemen, Testing Fire Hose, Basic Maintenance on Fire Equipment, Filling out the Fire Reports, Giving out Burn Permits, and Fire Code Enforcement. The Fire Chief is stationed at Fire Station #1 and is there Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm. The Volunteers train from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm on the first and third Tuesdays of every month. The City of Goodland Fire Department has an ISO rating of a 5.
